So I've had the Note 9 128GB UK version for 12 days. Today I took it out of my pocket and noticed a hالكairline crack running horizontally across the screen originating from the volume key. To my knowledge I have not dropped the phone or knocked it against anything, the phone has been in a case with a screen protector (http://i.viglink.com/?key=d2e43d31777d6249cc7d4a64dada8bca&insertId=70c584df1bc9ca29&type=S&exp=60%3ACI1C55A%3A7&libId=k20pzrda01000n4o000DLb9jgpb5y&loc=https%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fgalaxy-note-9%2Fhelp%2Fnote-9-screen-cracked-pocket-t3838224&v=1&iid=70c584df1bc9ca29&opt=true&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fsearch%3Fie %3DUTF8%26camp%3D1789%26creative%3D9325%26index%3D mobile%26keywords%3Dscreen%252Bprotector%26linkCod e%3Dur2&ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&title=Note%209%20Screen%20Cracked%20in%20Pocket%20 (Horizontall%E2%80%A6%20%7C%20Samsung%20Galaxy%20N ote%209&txt=%3Cspan%3Escreen%20%3C%2Fspan%3E%3Cspan%3Eprot ector%3C%2Fspan%3E) since day 1.
I took it into a Samsung store (Leeds, UK) today and unsurprisingly they just thought I had dropped it and were taking them for a ride. I have the number of the UK call centre to try next.
Has anyone else experienced this problem so far? Samsung claims that it isn't a known issue, but the phones only been out for 2 weeks so that's not surprising.

A month old. From day 1 in Spigen Ultra Hybrid case and last two weeks with Whitestone dome screen protector. I took it from the pocket in the evening (i was driving with the car before when i put it in the pocket after a call and it was ok) and found this. It cracked above the power button throughout the whole screen. The crack on the screen protector above that one was made by me, when i was checking if the screen actualy cracked. The screen and touch still works fine. How is this even possible, that the screen cracks inside the front pants pocket by itself? Aren't phones designed for carrying them in pocket? There was nothing else in the pocket that could cause the crack and also, the crack started at the very beggining of the glass 2 mm inside the case. I found some simillar cases of spontaneus cracks in the same way on the Samsung phones on the internet. It looks like manufacture defect, but how to proove it to the Samsung service center? I have had only Samsung phones until now and also in the family we have 3 more and not even 1 had a broken screen until now. I will certanly rethink my brand decision if i will have to pay for apparent manufacturing defect even for the price of loosing S-pen.
The realy expensive phone is becoming even more expensive...

I used to have a Samsung S8 and put it in my jeans pocket all the time. That phone does not even have a screen protector and in 2 years it did not even have a single scratch on the screen.
Now I am using a new S10 plus, within 3 weeks, the screen is now cracked from the inside. I did not drop the phone, no outside damage, screen protector shows no damage, the screen just cracked from the inside.
I really expect $1000 phone has a proper screen, not something soft and easy to crack like this. I called Samsung Premium Care and they asked for $99 plus tax to replace another phone.
This is very frustrated for me because this is not my fault to have the screen crack. I spent $1000 for the phone and I expect it to have a proper screen which I am not worry about anything while put it in my Jean pocket.
I am tired of back and forth argument. I am not supposed to pay anything. This is Samsung's responsibility for their products, and I expect to have a proper product in hand. This product is still under warranty and I need it to be replaced
Not sure if this happen to anyone else

I'm an EU customer. Same thing happened to me with my S10+. This is after just one and a half month of use (phone was in case). I never dropped the phone, and I also tend to put the phone in my front jeans pocket. Claimed an insurancy, and had to pay around 160$ for repairs. I'm now more careful with the phone, but if the same crack near power button will happen again in the next 12 months, this will be the last Samsung phone I will ever use, unless Samsung comes up with some free-repair or return policy for this model. I don't believe in coincidences, and I will certainly not pay for something that is apparently not my fault. Had an older S series model, and never had any problems with my phone for years.

Hello there, just bought my Galaxy note8 the 2nd of May and after two weeks the screen cracked 'in my front pocket'. It's a bummer that it has such fragile screen. My first time to switch to a Samsung device and I am utterly disappointed, to be honest. I went to Samsung technical service after having several calls and email cases opened with them; all their replies would be useless just redirecting me to go to the technical service or open another case from their website. From the service shop the unique solution given was to either pay 350€ to repair the screen or to leave the shop mocking at me as there was no guarantee of the screen. Very much pissed off after this bad experience, payed 800€ and in less than 2 weeks asking me 350€ to repair a screen which cracked without me doing anything. I can only feel that I got ripped off and won't ever rely on Samsung because of such a poor support. Hope this can be considered at some point as I could not find any other way of how to express my disappointment.

the phone wasn't under some stress at all as I was sitting during that time (it didn't pass more than 30 min since I saw the screen while I was sitting). I've also seen other many cases complaining about same issue. Is a shame that they ignore cases where there was no fault, feels like if they robbed you and they still want to continue by having to pay 350€ for a repair. I already spent much time complaining and trying to make this understandable to them, but looks like much people will need to raise official complains in order to make this present.
