pc42dThe printer feeds 7 extra blank label after the power
:
I have a pc42t that prints well, but every time I turn it on it feeds five to seven labels, withount printing,
just like if it's calibrating something. That happens every time. Is there a way to stop this behaviour?
:
Several Cases have been reported from customers who have purchased the Honeywell PC42t in which they claim that each time the printer is turned on it is automatically calibrated by, wasting between 6 or 8 labels. This document intends to guide the user in the printer's configuration to rectify the printer's action and avoid the waste of labels at each startup.
Set up the printer with PrintSet 5
PrintSet 5 is a printer configuration tool that allows you to easily change configuration options. You can also use the PrintSet 5 Setup wizards to perform common configuration tasks.
1. Make sure you have a PC with Microsoft Windows XP or later versions.
2. Download PrintSet 5 program from the download page of the Intermec Web site at
http://honeywell-printset.software.informer.com/5.0/
3. Install the PrintSet5. (The Installation is basic).
4. Connect the printer to your PC with a serial or USB cable.
5. Once inside the program, it will display the created printers (if this is the first time the program is used, the software is empty).
6. Select the
add printer icon to add the PC42T printer.
7. The Print Wizard will open and select the
next option.
8. Select the way the printer is connected, in this case the
USB option and then select next.
9. The wizard will do a search using the USB connection. Wait until the PC42T printer is identified and
double-click on it.
10. The different features and configurations that can be made will be listed depending on the type of printer you have. Display the options and select the following:
Settings > role > action.
11. Unfold the Action tab and modify the following options:
A.
Ignition = > No action
B.
Print head down = > no action
C.
Hold Feed Button Action = > Smart Calibration
When you make a change the selected option changes color while waiting to send the new settings to the printer.
12. The only option that must be left with Smart Calibration is
Hold Feed Button Action. (The reason for this action will be explained below). To send the new configurations to the PC42T printer, you must select the
play printer icon And wait for the settings to be applied.
13. Once the printer is set the last step is to calibrate the labels. (7 or 8 will be lost the first time but it should be noted that this process will be made only once.
A. Open the printer cover.
B. Place the Ribbon
C. Insert the label roll.
D. Close the lid.
E. Press the red button with the label roll symbol for 3 seconds, this will cause the printer to calibrate by feeding 7 or 8 labels in the first process (this is why the Hold feed button Action is left with the Smart Calibration option).
F. After calibrating the printer use it for its proper purpose. It can be turned off and on again and note that the PC42T will no longer calibrate the labels automatically each time you start it up.
Additional notes:
Step 13 to calibrate the printer should be done each time the printer cover is opened or the label roll is handled.
After setting up this document, it will not be necessary to reconfigure everything when the printer turns off and on.
You can do this settings also with simply diagnostic tools. The main issue is that the calibration settings are default settings. So you need to do this settings on each new printer.
