All three models look the same and come in equal packages, so in the photo I will use three models at once. So, the packaging for the series looks simple, but done in good faith. It should be opened with caution, as it is sealed very tightly and can easily break.
It shows the device and some characteristics. Also, a numerical display of the capacity of the device inside was taken out to the box.
Inside the package, the discs are in an open plastic box, in which they are firmly fixed. As a complete set, the manufacturer applies a user manual and instructions for working with the warranty.
The disks are made completely identical, by the top cover you can never find out where the drive is of what capacity. The devices are created in a plastic case with a noticeable rough surface on which the company logo flaunts.
On the back, on the contrary, there are labels, and already on them all three discs are easily distinguished, or rather according to the markings on them.
Opening the enclosures and gaining access to the printed circuit boards, we again encounter the same design of the enclosures. All are securely fastened to plastic snaps.
Very small printed circuit boards are installed inside, occupying less than 50% of the case. In all three versions, regardless of size, the same Marvell 1120 controller is used and the same number of memory chips 4 pieces - 2 pieces each. chips on each side.
The chip markings are different, since SSD drives use memory chips of different manufacturers, although they are marked under their own brand.

The ATTO Disk Benchmark test, as the first sign of performance, revealed that the new series has no problems with this. In terms of reading speed, the devices managed to achieve a result of 525 MB / s for all capacities. All three results are excellent. High write speed is much more difficult for disks with low capacity, therefore, according to this discipline, the 120 GB version was slightly down, getting mostly 435 MB / s, while 240 GB and 480 GB offer up to 455 MB / s.
CrystalDiskMark is even a little more supportive of devices. Please note that all drives showed high values ​​in the 4K reading column, which practically do not differ from labor and this is 40 MB / s. This means that even a low-capacity drive will work with the OS and system operations almost as well as higher-capacity SSDs. Linear speeds are not surprising and already fit into the picture obtained earlier - 550 MB / s for all three devices, as in the textbook. Recording varies slightly, 439 MB / s for 120 GB and 474 MB / s for more capacious variations.
IOPS values ​​still vary slightly depending on capacity. Versions of 120 GB and 240 GB received almost identical results, but 480 GB Lexar NS100 LNS100-480RBEU was able to demonstrate a small margin.
The test in Aja System test was extremely interesting. This benchmark will show us how well discs handle high-capacity recording. Devices are equipped (like most models on the market) with 3D TLC memory type and therefore must have certain caching technologies for fast recording at full speed. But only for a number of disks this “buffer” is quite small, up to 1-2 GB, after which the speed can drop by almost 10 times, usually 3-4 times. This buffer, as a rule, depends on the capacity of the device, and for 480 GB it is much higher than for 120 GB.

Result Lexar NS100 480 GB (LNS100-480RBEU)It is 120 GB disks that are vulnerable to write drops on high-capacity files, since their buffer is often full (not to be confused with the controller's buffer memory). Amazingly, all drives got a high level of performance on a large file. That 480 GB that 240 GB did not receive any reduction in speeds at all, their schedule is perfectly even throughout the 64 GB segment and of course this is a compliment for a 240 GB disk. As for the younger model, its result is much more modest, however, it was also able to record over 30 GB of data at full speed! This is a very good result for a TLC SSD with such a small capacity.
In the graphs of PC Mark 8 Storage Bandwidth (divided by their capacity classes), the disks were also approximately the same. With about average results among other tested drives, namely 149 MB / s for a 120 GB model, 182 MB / s for a 240 GB version and 225 MB / s, the result is a 480 GB modification. Unless compared to other devices, which are quite numerous in the graphics, the 240 GB model looks a bit faded, but it showed an excellent and stable result in other tests.
